DESCRIPTION:2020 Lent is observed at Reservoir Sunday\, February 23 – Easter Sunday April 12 \nWe kick off a new sermon series on “The Cross\,” and host special events and gatherings in person and online all seven-weeks long. Join us for Sunday services\, weekly community groups\, and read our daily Bible guide for spiritual nourishment through scripture and meditations on art. \nThe daily Bible guide and Steve’s blog on the cross are here: Lent at Reservoir. \nServices\, resources\, and special events: \n“The Cross” Sermon series: exploring this complicated and enduring  symbol through the seven things Jesus is recorded to have said as he was crucified. Informed by Reservoir staff team readings in 2019. \nDaily Bible guide: A reflective guide available each week at reservoirchurch.org/lent.  Limited paper copies available on Sundays. Select “church announcements” on your welcome card to receive digitally. \nDome Gallery series: “Creation\, Destruction\, and Resurrection” displaying works of art from the Reservoir community. \nWednesday\, February 26\, 7:00 – 7:30 PM Ash Wednesday service:  A simple contemplative service of readings\, prayer\, song\, and an opportunity to receive an ashy cross mark. \nFriday\, February 28\, 5:30 – 7:00 PM Mardi Gras Potluck for Families:  Bring something yummy! And enjoy Godly play storytelling and a get-connected game with your children. \nSunday\, March 1\, 1:00 – 3:00 PM Members potluck: Celebrate new members\, hear from our equity and diversity inclusion team\, and pray for Reservoir. What is worth tossing out? Sort out your church baggage: register https://unpack2020.eventbrite.com. \nSunday\, March 15\, both services Participatory Lenten Liturgy: Interactive services engaging The Prayers of the People. \nSunday\, April 5\, both services Palm Sunday services: Celebrating with eco-palms\, worship\, and teaching. \nThursday\, April 9\, 6:00 – 7:30 PM Holy Thursday Foot Washing Service: Join us for a potluck meal\, communion\, and optional foot-washing as we remember Jesus’ last meal with his friends before he was arrested. \nFriday\, April 10\, 7:00 – 8:00 PM Good Friday Service: Meditating on the events leading to Jesus’ death on the Cross. A somber\,  meditative service for all ages with options for interactive prayer. \nSunday\, April 12\, both services Easter Sunday Services:  We all–kids and grown-ups–worship and celebrate Jesus’ Resurrection together. DESCRIPTION:Our 9:30 Sunday service. You can expect the service to last about an hour and a half. There will be free coffee and bagels! \nMost weeks there will be programming for kids during the 9:30 service; kid drop off is between 9:15-9:30. First through fifth graders meet in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Sanctuary\, the room below the bagel room. All other kids (0-18) can check in at the Ministry Center.

DESCRIPTION:Interested in learning about how to turn your faith into action? \n  \n\n\n\n\nReservoir is building power to tackle big issues. We partner with Greater Boston Interfaith Organization (GBIO) to learn about community organizing and take action alongside other people of faiths. Currently\, we’re organizing in-district meetings to meet with our state representatives on healthcare issues. We’d love to organize Reservoir to where we can take action on issues of affordable housing\, climate change\, immigration a more. \nJoin us\, Faith Into Action\, as we build people power towards real public change\, as we follow Christ in loving our neighbor and doing justice! At our training on power organizing\, we’ll practice relational meetings\, one-on-one\, and how to tell our stories. Everyone is welcome.
