DESCRIPTION:Citizens Bank currently serves as the primary financial broker for CoreCivic and the GEO Group\, two private prison corporations that together operate more than half of ICE’s detention beds. Conditions in these facilities have been widely documented. While most major banks ended their financial ties to these companies in 2019\, Citizens has continued—and expanded—its involvement.\n\nGBIO is organizing our community to tell Citizens Bank that we won’t stand behind institutions that facilitate these human rights abuses\, especially those that seek to profit off the industry of ripping families and communities apart. We have already identified more than $8 million of deposits from members of GBIO institutions and are looking for more pledges to withdraw deposits from Citizens Bank if they ignore our demands.\n\nJoin the Faith Into Action team for a teach-in on this campaign. DESCRIPTION:Do you recycle cans? Do you like supporting local crafters? I’m collecting the pull tabs from all sorts of cans for a costume project and need your help. Before throwing your soda can\, soup can\, or cat food can in the recycle bin\, consider pulling the tab off and saving them for my collection. There will be a collection container on a table in the dome before and after service for you to donate your collected tabs until the end of June.\n\nFor reference\, the costume project in question is chainmail and a suit of armour made from recycled materials.
