2020 Lent resources are available

Our season leading up to Easter begins Sunday, and you’ll find online links to aid in finding spiritual resource considering Jesus and the complicated and centrally enduring symbol of the cross, throughout the season wherever you are.

Services and special events during Lent are as follows: (see calendar of events for more details)

“The Cross” Sermon series: exploring this complicated and enduring  symbol through the seven things Jesus is recorded to have said as he was crucified. Takes place during regular Sunday services at 9:30 and 11:30 am. Informed by Reservoir staff team readings in 2019.

Dome Gallery series: “Creation, Destruction, and Resurrection” displaying works of art from the Reservoir community.

Wednesday, February 26, 7:00 – 7:30 PM Ash Wednesday service:  A simple contemplative service of readings, prayer, song, and an opportunity to receive an ashy cross mark.

Friday, February 28, 5:30 – 7:00 PM Mardi Gras Potluck for Families:  Bring something yummy! And enjoy Godly play storytelling and a get-connected game with your children.

Sunday, March 1, 1:00 – 3:00 PM Members potluck: Celebrate new members, hear from our equity and diversity inclusion team, and pray for Reservoir. Bring a dish to share & register for free childcare4membersmeetings@reservoirchurch.org before Mon,  2/24.

Tuesday, March 3 – Tuesday, April 7, 6:30 – 8:30 PM Unpack Your Baggage: What is worth taking with you on your continued faith journey? What is worth tossing out? Sort out your church baggage: register https://unpack2020.eventbrite.com.

Friday, March 6, March 20, April 3, 6:30 – 7:30 PM Dwelling in the Presence of God: A time for those who identify as women to dwell together with the Holy Spirit. Bring knitting needles, art supplies, tea, a journal or nothing at all.

Sunday, March 15, both services Participatory Lenten Liturgy: Interactive services engaging The Prayers of the People.

Sunday, April 5, both services Palm Sunday services: Celebrating with eco-palms, worship, and teaching.

Thursday, April 9, 6:00 – 7:30 PM Holy Thursday Foot Washing Service: Join us for a potluck meal, communion, and optional foot-washing as we remember Jesus’ last meal with his friends before he was arrested.

Friday, April 10, 7:00 – 8:00 PM Good Friday Service: Meditating on the events leading to Jesus’ death on the Cross. A somber,  meditative service for all ages with options for interactive prayer.

Sunday, April 12, both services Easter Sunday Services:  We all–kids and grown-ups–worship and celebrate Jesus’ Resurrection together. Egg hunt after first service! Visitors are welcome as always.
