Last Year’s Palms Become This Year’s Dome Gallery Art
March 16, 2016
Palm Sunday, March 20th, is the inspiration for our Dome Gallery art work this season. Local artist and printmaker, Kathy Jenkins, collected palms scattered on the floor of our church last year to make the monotypes on display.
Kathy says, “Palm Sunday is very special to me. One time, in a moment of despair, I found a palm someone had discarded at my feet, and took it as a personal sign of God’s promise. Since then I have loved our church celebrations, as we move into the true hope that Easter brings, despite an imperfect world. These images are an attempt to demonstrate some of this, using the palms themselves.”
