Jesus Beyond Religion

A Christian Pastor and a Muslim Journalist discuss Jesus Beyond Religion.  This event is sponsored by Reservoir Church, with support from congregations in the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization.

Mustafa Akyol is a prominent Turkish journalist, who writes and speaks on Islam, secularism in the West, Islamic reform, and the person and meaning of the teaching of Jesus outside of the Christian religion. He is based at Wellesley College as a Senior Visiting Fellow in the Freedom Project. Apart from his TED talk and other work, Mr. Akyol is regularly published in The New York Times. His latest book, The Islamic Jesus, is new this year, and—within its subcategories of history, religion, Islam, etc.—is selling well.

Steve Watson is the senior pastor of Reservoir Church, inspiring people to discover the love of Jesus, the joy of living, and the gift of community.

Earlier in the day on November 12th, Mustafa and Steve will speak together at Reservoir Church’s 9:30 and 11:30 worship services on Rindge Avenue in North Cambridge.
