Youth and Kids Program Coordinatoremail:
Jake was born in South Korea and moved to the United States when he was 13 years old. He grew up in the Greater Boston area and Atlanta where he attended Emory University, studying Economics and Mathematics. After college, he worked as an alumni engagement officer and dorm parent at his alma mater, Fay school. Jake went back to Korea for several years to pursue his musical career.
Jake has been professionally making music for three years now and he aims to provide the genre with a much needed Asian-American perspective. His ultimate goal is to build bridges between cultures and push the genre he loves into bold new territory. Jake also has an extensive background in teaching Music, Math and English. He finds great joy in teaching and he worked with students ranging from pre-K to college.
While managing the logistics of his move from Korea to the U.S, Jake had to wait for a full year to get a green card, which would allow him to work in the U.S. He is now fully settled and prepared to take the next steps in his career at Reservoir church. His goal is to lead youth ministry with unique and unconventional methods, while building strong core values for our community.
