Why All the Chairs Went Missing Yesterday

Yesterday hundreds of us walked within our sanctuary walls on a pilgrimage of sorts. What rock stood out to us down along the ground, we picked up to symbolize our burdens. Above our heads, stars. Lots of them, drawing our gaze to God’s guidance or promises not yet realized. The ancient Christmas stories spoke to us, a shepherd and a wise man (both played by Holly Schaff with a flick of the paper crown). Their exhaustion, their diligence and vigilance, their hopes, even their quirky internal spaces allowed our own internal roller coaster and pondering to exist. Pastor Ivy and the entire team helped make the events surrounding Jesus’ birth a continued mystery and personal invitation for all who joined in.
