Dr. Defranza is an intersex scholar and has written the book titled, “Sex Difference in Christian Theology: Male, Female, and Intersex in the Image of God”. It explores how the reality of bodies with a mix of male and female characteristics challenges some of the ways Christians think about gender. She also directed the documentary “Stories of Intersex and Faith”.
